MATOMATIC results at the Billerbeck Sustainability Centre (Germany)
On 3 June 2024, LOWINFOOD partner Christina Strotmann presented the results of the FH Münster in LOWINFOOD to test the plate waste tracker Matomatic AB in the Billerbeck school cafeteria at the opening of the Billerbeck Sustainability Centre.
Christina showed the effects of the intended sensitization of students and the cafeteria team they conducted through the use of the Matomatic waste tracker: the plate remnants could be impressively reduced by 72 %. The waste tracker was proven during three campaigns, between October 2022 and March 2024, in which plate residues were initially 32, then 18 and finally 9 grams per person – “a complete success!”, according to Christina Strotmann.
