LOWINFOOD at the Sardinia Symposium 2023
On 9-13 October 2023, the LOWINFOOD partners Niina Sundin and Mattias Eriksson (SLU) attended the SARDINIA 2023 – 19th International Symposium on Waste Management, Resource Recovery and Sustainable Landfilling, held in Santa Margherita di Pula, Italy.
They offered three presentations in total, two of them in the session on “food waste minimization” and one poster presentation:
- Reducing food waste in Swedish school catering: testing the effectiveness of nudging
- Metabolic food waste – Hidden waste with a significant climate cost
- Unveiling the key success factors for effective surplus food donation – A case study from Sweden
However, “On top of that, the conference was a great opportunity to network and listen to other interesting topics in the area of food waste prevention, as well as waste management, circularity, AI to mention a few”, stated Niina Sundin.
