On 15-17 September 2024, the LOWINFOOD partners Claudia Giordano (LUKE), Simone Piras (JHI), and Emanuele Blasi (UNIBO) participated in the LX SIDEA Conference, organised by the Italian Society of Agricultural Economics in Anacapri, Italy.

During the conference, our partners presented results from the following studies carried out in LOWINFOOD:

  • “From 2011 to 2024: use and misuse of monitoring methods for assessing food waste innovations impacts”. This work, signed by Claudia Giordano, Luca Falasconi, Elisa Carloni, Gianluca Di Fiore and Fabrizio Alboni was presented by Claudia Giordano, in a session chaired by herself entitled Agricultural Policy and the One Health Approach.
  • “Innovation as an intervention: How being involved in innovations against food waste changes individuals’ awareness, attitude, and behaviours?” Simone Piras presented this paper, elaborated with Nazli Koseoglu based on the participant survey results.
  • Emanuele Blasi presented the work titled “Driving innovation in out-of-market food redistribution: digital platform services to boost OCM and CaP crisis measures’ effectiveness against food losses”, signed by Marco Nasso, Francisco Alcon, Roberta Pietrangeli, Clara Cicatiello, Emanuele Blasi (LOWINFOOD). This research comes from the partnership established in LOWINFOOD. It elaborates on some data provided by Regione Emilia Romagna about the performance of the SIR platform in saving and redistributing surplus food.
