On 11 November 2022, the LOWINFOOD partner Simone Piras (James Hutton Institute) was invited to attend as an observer the quarterly meetings of the North East Scotland Fisheries Development Partnership (NESFDP) – Aberdeenshire Council, thanks to their efforts in contacting stakeholders around Scotland. This is a high-level partnership with industry representatives all along the chain, regional councillors, and members of parliament.

These meetings are a forum between the fishing industry and political representatives hosted by the Abedeenshire Council. As Simone Piras states, “cooperation along the supply chain is the right response for increasing value and reducing waste – this is what we try to do through our dialogue”.
