Multidisciplinary, foundation-based Tampere University is Finland’s second largest university. TAU conducts scientific research in technology, health and society and provides the highest education within these fields. TAU ranks fourth among all Finnish participants in H2020 funding. The issues of resource efficiency and sustainable development are in the research strategy of the University, which fit well with the proposal’s topic on food waste reduction.
Role in LOWINFOOD: The main contribution of TAU is expected in WP3 (leader of 3.2, participating also to 3.1) and WP5 (leader of 5.5). TAU is also involved in task 2.4 and in WP1, WP6 and WP7 together with all other partners.
